Terms of service

When you buy from Penny Black, you’re agreeing to our terms and conditions. Please read these before you buy. Got a question? Email customerservice@penny-black.co.uk.

1. Company details

Penny Black Glasgow Ltd is a limited liability company registered with Companies House in the UK. Our registration number is SC485684. Our registered trading address is 721-723 Great Western Road, Glasgow, G12 8QX.

2. VAT

All prices advertised on our website include VAT at the standard rate of 20%. Penny Black Glasgow Ltd is VAT registered and our registration number is 198240189.

3. Payment

We accept payment in the following currencies: GBP, EUR, USD

Your order will only be dispatched once your payment has been made in full.

If you pay via Paypal, and any sort of hold is placed on the funds being released to us, we reserve the right to delay dispatch until the funds are received.

Credit and debit card payments are processed on our behalf by Shopify Payments. We don’t store your credit card information in any of our computer systems, and they’re not accessible by any of our staff – ever.

4. Orders

Product availability

We try our best to keep our site fully up to date, but on rare occasions an item might be out of stock when ordered. If that happens, we’ll get in touch as soon as possible to offer an alternative or a refund.

Representation

We always try to display images and information in a way that accurately reflects our products. Colour variations might occur if images have been brightened digitally, or depending on the settings of the device you view our website on.

Order process

Once you’ve paid for your order, you’ll get an email confirmation. Another email will be sent when your order is dispatched, which will include your tracking reference if you have one. Emails will be sent from customerservice@penny-black.co.uk. If they’re not in your inbox, check your spam filter – they might have been marked as junk. To avoid that happening again, add our email address to your safe sender list. Still no email? Get in touch.

7. pennypals Rewards Programme

The pennypals Rewards Programme is an integrated application hosted by Smile.io. When signing up for the pennypals Rewards Program you agree to the Smile.io Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. pennypals is intended for personal use only. Commercial use is prohibited. There are no participation or membership fees associated with pennypals Rewards Programme. Points accrued in connection with pennypals are promotional, have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. In addition, your redemption of Points accrued in connection with pennypals cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts, unless otherwise expressly indicated by us.
Your Points, Rewards, registered Penny Black account, and pennypals account are personal to you and may not be sold, transferred or assigned to, or shared with, family, friends or others, or used by you for any commercial purpose. You may have only one (1) pennypals account that is personal to you.


Without notice to you, Penny Black Glasgow Ltd reserves the right to suspend any pennypals registered to your account and/or terminate your account and/or your participation in pennypals if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms of Use or that the use of your pennypals account is unauthorized, deceptive, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful. We may, at our sole discretion, suspend, cancel or combine pennypals accounts that appear to be duplicative. If your participation in pennypals is terminated, all accrued Points in your account are void.


Without notice to you, we also reserve the right to "unregister" and make ineligible for pennypals any pennypals or customer account that has been inactive for two (2) consecutive years. Inactivity is defined as no customer purchase made during such two (2) consecutive year period. If your pennypals or customer account is unregistered or rendered inactive, all accrued Points in your pennypals or customer account are void.


Penny Black Glasgow Ltd reserves the right to change, modify, discontinue or cancel pennypals or any part of the pennypals Rewards Programme, at any time and in its sole discretion, without notice to you.
